Maureen's Haven

Maureen’s Haven is an awesome shelter that will give you shelter along with feed you dinner. They are fully operational November 1st through to April 31st every year. They safely shelter you in one of many churches. From 4pm to 7am nightly. Call them and ask if they have a bed available. Pax Christi Hospitality Center (men only shelter).

Pax Christi Hospitality Center in Port Jefferson is a 25-bed emergency shelter for men over the age of 16. The center provides not only shelter and food, but also counseling, advocacy, and networking needs.  They also provide hot showers for anyone in need, along with hot meals for all. Pax Christies has four non-DSS beds. Call to see if any beds are available. Undocumented Men are accepted, subject to availability. Salvation Army

This is an excellent program. Please be aware that it is a one year faith based homeless and homeless with substance abuse problems, felons and undocumented homeless are also accepted. Age limits are18-65 years old.  Everyone we sent to this rehab stayed the duration. ​Address: 194 Front St, Hempstead, NY 11550

Call 211 Nassau and Suffolk

The 211 Long Island Call Center is a free and confidential hotline, People can call about everything from basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, legal services, drug treatment, employment support, childcare, eldercare, and more. The 211 Long Island Call Center is available 24/7 and is accessible by dialing 2-1-1 or outside Nassau and Suffolk Counties by calling 1-888-774-7633. The Chafee Funds Program - Beyond (CFP-B) of New York State through the Office of Children and Family Services offers limited financial awards to eligible youth who are currently or were in foster care. Funds for this program are awarded from $500 to $2,000. Applicants will be informed if funds are available for multiple awards.

FYI VOUCHERS FOR THE FOSTER YOUTH TO INDEPENDENCE INITIATIVE​
